015- And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman: these are the families of Simeon.
016- And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari: and the years of the life of Levi were an hundred thirty and seven years.
017- The sons of Gershon; Libni, and Shimi, according to their families.
018- And the sons of Kohath; Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel: and the years of the life of Kohath were an hundred thirty and three years.

2 02 Exodus 028 Eleazar
001- And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons.
002- And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.
003- And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.
004- And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.
005- And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen.
006- And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cunning work.
007- It shall have the two shoulderpieces thereof joined at the two edges thereof; and so it shall be joined together.
008- And the curious girdle of the ephod, which is upon it, shall be of the same, according to the work thereof; even of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
009- And thou shalt take two onyx stones, and grave on them the names of the children of Israel:
010- Six of their names on one stone, and the other six names of the rest on the other stone, according to their birth.
011- With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, shalt thou engrave the two stones with the names of the children of Israel: thou shalt make them to be set in ouches of gold.
012- And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial unto the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial.
013- And thou shalt make ouches of gold;
014- And two chains of pure gold at the ends; of wreathed work shalt thou make them, and fasten the wreathed chains to the ouches.
015- And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine twined linen, shalt thou make it.
016- Foursquare it shall be being doubled; a span shall be the length thereof, and a span shall be the breadth thereof.
017- And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, even four rows of stones: the first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this shall be the first row.

023- And thou shalt make upon the breastplate two rings of gold, and shalt put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.

028- And they shall bind the breastplate by the rings thereof unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it may be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate be not loosed from the ephod.

030- And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in before the LORD: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the LORD continually.
031- And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue.
032- And there shall be an hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof: it shall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, as it were the hole of an habergeon, that it be not rent.
033- And beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, round about the hem thereof; and bells of gold between them round about:
034- A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about.
035- And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the LORD, and when he cometh out, that he die not.

040- And for Aaron's sons thou shalt make coats, and thou shalt make for them girdles, and bonnets shalt thou make for them, for glory and for beauty.
041- And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him; and shalt anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office.
042- And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach:
043- And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in unto the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near unto the altar to minister in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die: it shall be a statute for ever unto him and his seed after him.
3 03 Leviticus 010 Eleazar
001- And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.
002- And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

004- And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.
005- So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said.
006- And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled.
007- And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.
008- And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying,
009- Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:
010- And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
011- And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.
012- And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat offering that remaineth of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar: for it is most holy:
013- And ye shall eat it in the holy place, because it is thy due, and thy sons' due, of the sacrifices of the LORD made by fire: for so I am commanded.
014- And the wave breast and heave shoulder shall ye eat in a clean place; thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for they be thy due, and thy sons' due, which are given out of the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Israel.
015- The heave shoulder and the wave breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before the LORD; and it shall be thine, and thy sons' with thee, by a statute for ever; as the LORD hath commanded.
016- And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron which were left alive, saying,
017- Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is most holy, and God hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD?
018- Behold, the blood of it was not brought in within the holy place: ye should indeed have eaten it in the holy place, as I commanded.
019- And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD; and such things have befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the LORD?
020- And when Moses heard that, he was content.

002- And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown:
003- And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?
004- And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:
005- And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the LORD will show who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.
006- This do; Take you censers, Korah, and all his company;
007- And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the LORD to morrow: and it shall be that the man whom the LORD doth choose, he shall be holy: ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.
008- And Moses said unto Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi:
009- Seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them?
010- And he hath brought thee near to him, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee: and seek ye the priesthood also?
011- For which cause both thou and all thy company are gathered together against the LORD: and what is Aaron, that ye murmur against him?
012- And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab: which said, We will not come up:
013- Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except thou make thyself altogether a prince over us?
014- Moreover thou hast not brought us into a land that floweth with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.
015- And Moses was very wroth, and said unto the LORD, Respect not thou their offering: I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them.
016- And Moses said unto Korah, Be thou and all thy company before the LORD, thou, and they, and Aaron, to morrow:
017- And take every man his censer, and put incense in them, and bring ye before the LORD every man his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; thou also, and Aaron, each of you his censer.
018- And they took every man his censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense thereon, and stood in the door of the tabernacle of the congregation with Moses and Aaron.
019- And Korah gathered all the congregation against them unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the congregation.
020- And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
021- Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.
022- And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?
023- And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
024- Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
025- And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.
026- And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.
027- So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.
028- And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.
029- If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the LORD hath not sent me.
030- But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD.
031- And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:
032- And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
033- They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.
034- And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also.
035- And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.
036- And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
037- Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are hallowed.
038- The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.
039- And Eleazar the priest took the brazen censers, wherewith they that were burnt had offered; and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar:
040- To be a memorial unto the children of Israel, that no stranger, which is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the LORD; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as the LORD said to him by the hand of Moses.
041- But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the LORD.
042- And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.
043- And Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of the congregation.
044- And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
045- Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.
046- And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun.
047- And Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people.
048- And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.
049- Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter of Korah.
050- And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the plague was stayed.
7 04 Numbers 019 Eleazar
001- And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
002- This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:
003- And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:
004- And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:
005- And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:
006- And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.
007- Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.
008- And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.
009- And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.
010- And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.
011- He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.
012- He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.
013- Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.
014- This is the law, when a man dieth in a tent: all that come into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.
015- And every open vessel, which hath no covering bound upon it, is unclean.
016- And whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.
017- And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:
018- And a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:
019- And the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even.
020- But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.
021- And it shall be a perpetual statute unto them, that he that sprinkleth the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that toucheth the water of separation shall be unclean until even.
022- And whatsoever the unclean person toucheth shall be unclean; and the soul that toucheth it shall be unclean until even.
8 04 Numbers 020 Eleazar
001- Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.
002- And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.
003- And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!
004- And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?
005- And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.
006- And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.
007- And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
008- Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
009- And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.
010- And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?
011- And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.
012- And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
013- This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.
014- And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us:
015- How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers:
016- And when we cried unto the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border:
017- Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king's high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.
018- And Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword.
019- And the children of Israel said unto him, We will go by the high way: and if I and my cattle drink of thy water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing anything else, go through on my feet.
020- And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand.
021- Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him.
022- And the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came unto mount Hor.
023- And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying,
024- Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.
025- Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor:
026- And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there.
027- And Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.
028- And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount.
029- And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.
9 04 Numbers 025 Eleazar
001- And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
002- And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.
003- And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.
004- And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.
005- And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor.
006- And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
007- And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;
008- And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.
009- And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.
010- And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
011- Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.
012- Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:
013- And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel.
014- Now the name of the Israelite that was slain, even that was slain with the Midianitish woman, was Zimri, the son of Salu, a prince of a chief house among the Simeonites.
015- And the name of the Midianitish woman that was slain was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was head over a people, and of a chief house in Midian.
016- And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
017- Vex the Midianites, and smite them:
018- For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor's sake.
10 04 Numbers 026 Eleazar
001- And it came to pass after the plague, that the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

003- And Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,

11 04 Numbers 027 Eleazar
001- Then came the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph: and these are the names of his daughters; Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.
002- And they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,
003- Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the company of them that gathered themselves together against the LORD in the company of Korah; but died in his own sin, and had no sons.
004- Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.
005- And Moses brought their cause before the LORD.
006- And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
007- The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them.
008- And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter.
009- And if he have no daughter, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his brethren.
010- And if he have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his father's brethren.
011- And if his father have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be unto the children of Israel a statute of judgment, as the LORD commanded Moses.
012- And the LORD said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel.
013- And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered.
014- For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.
015- And Moses spake unto the LORD, saying,
016- Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation,
017- Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd.
018- And the LORD said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him;
019- And set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.
020- And thou shalt put some of thine honor upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.
021- And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim before the LORD: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.
022- And Moses did as the LORD commanded him: and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation:
023- And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.

004- Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.
005- So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
006- And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.
007- And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.
008- And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
009- And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods.
010- And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire.
011- And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts.
012- And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho.
013- And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp.
014- And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle.
015- And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive?
016- Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.
017- Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
018- But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
019- And do ye abide without the camp seven days: whosoever hath killed any person, and whosoever hath touched any slain, purify both yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh day.
020- And purify all your raiment, and all that is made of skins, and all work of goats' hair, and all things made of wood.
021- And Eleazar the priest said unto the men of war which went to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD commanded Moses;
022- Only the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
023- Every thing that may abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the water.
024- And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean, and afterward ye shall come into the camp.
025- And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
026- Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation:
027- And divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war upon them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation:
028- And levy a tribute unto the LORD of the men of war which went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the beeves, and of the asses, and of the sheep:
029- Take it of their half, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for an heave offering of the LORD.
030- And of the children of Israel's half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the beeves, of the asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of beasts, and give them unto the Levites, which keep the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.
031- And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.
032- And the booty, being the rest of the prey which the men of war had caught, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep,
033- And threescore and twelve thousand beeves,
034- And threescore and one thousand asses,
035- And thirty and two thousand persons in all, of women that had not known man by lying with him.
036- And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and seven and thirty thousand and five hundred sheep:
037- And the LORD's tribute of the sheep was six hundred and threescore and fifteen.
038- And the beeves were thirty and six thousand; of which the LORD's tribute was threescore and twelve.
039- And the asses were thirty thousand and five hundred; of which the LORD's tribute was threescore and one.
040- And the persons were sixteen thousand; of which the LORD's tribute was thirty and two persons.
041- And Moses gave the tribute, which was the LORD's heave offering, unto Eleazar the priest, as the LORD commanded Moses.
042- And of the children of Israel's half, which Moses divided from the men that warred,
043- (Now the half that pertained unto the congregation was three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred sheep,
044- And thirty and six thousand beeves,
045- And thirty thousand asses and five hundred,
046- And sixteen thousand persons;)
047- Even of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one portion of fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them unto the Levites, which kept the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.
048- And the officers which were over thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near unto Moses:
049- And they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war which are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us.
050- We have therefore brought an oblation for the LORD, what every man hath gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the LORD.
051- And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, even all wrought jewels.
052- And all the gold of the offering that they offered up to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels.
053- (For the men of war had taken spoil, every man for himself.)
054- And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, for a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.
13 04 Numbers 032 Eleazar
001- Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of cattle: and when they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, that, behold, the place was a place for cattle;
002- The children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and spake unto Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and unto the princes of the congregation, saying,
003- Ataroth, and Dibon, and Jazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Shebam, and Nebo, and Beon,
004- Even the country which the LORD smote before the congregation of Israel, is a land for cattle, and thy servants have cattle:
005- Wherefore, said they, if we have found grace in thy sight, let this land be given unto thy servants for a possession, and bring us not over Jordan.
006- And Moses said unto the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall ye sit here?
007- And wherefore discourage ye the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD hath given them?
008- Thus did your fathers, when I sent them from Kadeshbarnea to see the land.
009- For when they went up unto the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which the LORD had given them.
010- And the LORD's anger was kindled the same time, and he sware, saying,
011- Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:
012- Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have wholly followed the LORD.
013- And the LORD's anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed.
014- And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers' stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of the LORD toward Israel.
015- For if ye turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and ye shall destroy all this people.
016- And they came near unto him, and said, We will build sheepfolds here for our cattle, and cities for our little ones:
017- But we ourselves will go ready armed before the children of Israel, until we have brought them unto their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the fenced cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
018- We will not return unto our houses, until the children of Israel have inherited every man his inheritance.
019- For we will not inherit with them on yonder side Jordan, or forward; because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side Jordan eastward.
020- And Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will go armed before the LORD to war,
021- And will go all of you armed over Jordan before the LORD, until he hath driven out his enemies from before him,
022- And the land be subdued before the LORD: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless before the LORD, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the LORD.
023- But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.
024- Build you cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which hath proceeded out of your mouth.
025- And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spake unto Moses, saying, Thy servants will do as my lord commandeth.
026- Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall be there in the cities of Gilead:
027- But thy servants will pass over, every man armed for war, before the Lord to battle, as my lord saith.
028- So concerning them Moses commanded Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel:
029- And Moses said unto them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over Jordan, every man armed to battle, before the LORD, and the land shall be subdued before you; then ye shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession:
030- But if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.
031- And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As the LORD hath said unto thy servants, so will we do.
032- We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, that the possession of our inheritance on this side Jordan may be ours.
033- And Moses gave unto them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and unto half the tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts, even the cities of the country round about.
034- And the children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
035- And Atroth, Shophan, and Jaazer, and Jogbehah,
036- And Bethnimrah, and Bethharan, fenced cities: and folds for sheep.
037- And the children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kirjathaim,
038- And Nebo, and Baalmeon, (their names being changed,) and Shibmah: and gave other names unto the cities which they builded.
039- And the children of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorite which was in it.
040- And Moses gave Gilead unto Machir the son of Manasseh; and he dwelt therein.
041- And Jair the son of Manasseh went and took the small towns thereof, and called them Havothjair.
042- And Nobah went and took Kenath, and the villages thereof, and called it Nobah, after his own name.
14 04 Numbers 034 Eleazar
001- And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
002- Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of Canaan; (this is the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan with the coasts thereof:)
003- Then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the coast of Edom, and your south border shall be the outmost coast of the salt sea eastward:
004- And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth thereof shall be from the south to Kadeshbarnea, and shall go on to Hazaraddar, and pass on to Azmon:
005- And the border shall fetch a compass from Azmon unto the river of Egypt, and the goings out of it shall be at the sea.
006- And as for the western border, ye shall even have the great sea for a border: this shall be your west border.
007- And this shall be your north border: from the great sea ye shall point out for you mount Hor:
008- From mount Hor ye shall point out your border unto the entrance of Hamath; and the goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad:
009- And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazarenan: this shall be your north border.
010- And ye shall point out your east border from Hazarenan to Shepham:
011- And the coast shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall descend, and shall reach unto the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward:
012- And the border shall go down to Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the salt sea: this shall be your land with the coasts thereof round about.
013- And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, This is the land which ye shall inherit by lot, which the LORD commanded to give unto the nine tribes, and to the half tribe:
014- For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance; and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance:
015- The two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side Jordan near Jericho eastward, toward the sunrising.
016- And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
017- These are the names of the men which shall divide the land unto you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun.
018- And ye shall take one prince of every tribe, to divide the land by inheritance.
019- And the names of the men are these: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
020- And of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud.
021- Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon.
022- And the prince of the tribe of the children of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli.
023- The prince of the children of Joseph, for the tribe of the children of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod.
024- And the prince of the tribe of the children of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan.
025- And the prince of the tribe of the children of Zebulun, Elizaphan the son of Parnach.
026- And the prince of the tribe of the children of Issachar, Paltiel the son of Azzan.
027- And the prince of the tribe of the children of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi.
028- And the prince of the tribe of the children of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.
029- These are they whom the LORD commanded to divide the inheritance unto the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.
15 05 Deuteronomy 010 Eleazar
001- At that time the LORD said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.
002- And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.
003- And I made an ark of shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand.
004- And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them unto me.
005- And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.
006- And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera: there Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest's office in his stead.
007- From thence they journeyed unto Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbath, a land of rivers of waters.
008- At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day.
009- Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; the LORD is his inheritance, according as the LORD thy God promised him.
010- And I stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also, and the LORD would not destroy thee.
011- And the LORD said unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them.
012- And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
013- To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
014- Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD's thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.
015- Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.
016- Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
017- For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
018- He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.
019- Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
020- Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.
021- He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.
022- Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.
16 06 Joshua 014 Eleazar
001- And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance to them.
002- By lot was their inheritance, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half tribe.
003- For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among them.
004- For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.
005- As the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.
006- Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea.
007- Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.
008- Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.
009- And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.
010- And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.
011- As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.
012- Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.
013- And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.
014- Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.
015- And the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba; which Arba was a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.
17 06 Joshua 017 Eleazar
001- There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to wit, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.
002- There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families.
003- But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
004- And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.
005- And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan;
006- Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead.
007- And the coast of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah, that lieth before Shechem; and the border went along on the right hand unto the inhabitants of Entappuah.
008- Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah: but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim;
009- And the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea:
010- Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.
011- And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Bethshean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries.
012- Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
013- Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were waxen strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, but did not utterly drive them out.
014- And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the LORD hath blessed me hitherto?
015- And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.
016- And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Bethshean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.
017- And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only:
018- But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.
18 06 Joshua 019 Eleazar
001- And the second lot came forth to Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah.
002- And they had in their inheritance Beersheba, and Sheba, and Moladah,
003- And Hazarshual, and Balah, and Azem,
004- And Eltolad, and Bethul, and Hormah,
005- And Ziklag, and Bethmarcaboth, and Hazarsusah,
006- And Bethlebaoth, and Sharuhen; thirteen cities and their villages:
007- Ain, Remmon, and Ether, and Ashan; four cities and their villages:
008- And all the villages that were round about these cities to Baalathbeer, Ramath of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.
009- Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.
010- And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families: and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid:
011- And their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, and reached to Dabbasheth, and reached to the river that is before Jokneam;
012- And turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising unto the border of Chislothtabor, and then goeth out to Daberath, and goeth up to Japhia,
013- And from thence passeth on along on the east to Gittahhepher, to Ittahkazin, and goeth out to Remmonmethoar to Neah;
014- And the border compasseth it on the north side to Hannathon: and the outgoings thereof are in the valley of Jiphthahel:
015- And Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Bethlehem: twelve cities with their villages.
016- This is the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.
017- And the fourth lot came out to Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families.
018- And their border was toward Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem,
019- And Haphraim, and Shihon, and Anaharath,
020- And Rabbith, and Kishion, and Abez,
021- And Remeth, and Engannim, and Enhaddah, and Bethpazzez;
022- And the coast reacheth to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Bethshemesh; and the outgoings of their border were at Jordan: sixteen cities with their villages.
023- This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.
024- And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families.
025- And their border was Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaph,
026- And Alammelech, and Amad, and Misheal; and reacheth to Carmel westward, and to Shihorlibnath;
027- And turneth toward the sunrising to Bethdagon, and reacheth to Zebulun, and to the valley of Jiphthahel toward the north side of Bethemek, and Neiel, and goeth out to Cabul on the left hand,
028- And Hebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, even unto great Zidon;
029- And then the coast turneth to Ramah, and to the strong city Tyre; and the coast turneth to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof are at the sea from the coast to Achzib:
030- Ummah also, and Aphek, and Rehob: twenty and two cities with their villages.
031- This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.
032- The sixth lot came out to the children of Naphtali, even for the children of Naphtali according to their families.
033- And their coast was from Heleph, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, unto Lakum; and the outgoings thereof were at Jordan:
034- And then the coast turneth westward to Aznothtabor, and goeth out from thence to Hukkok, and reacheth to Zebulun on the south side, and reacheth to Asher on the west side, and to Judah upon Jordan toward the sunrising.
035- And the fenced cities are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth,
036- And Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor,
037- And Kedesh, and Edrei, and Enhazor,
038- And Iron, and Migdalel, Horem, and Bethanath, and Bethshemesh; nineteen cities with their villages.
039- This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.
040- And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families.
041- And the coast of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Irshemesh,
042- And Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah,
043- And Elon, and Thimnathah, and Ekron,
044- And Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath,
045- And Jehud, and Beneberak, and Gathrimmon,
046- And Mejarkon, and Rakkon, with the border before Japho.
047- And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
048- This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.
049- When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them:
050- According to the word of the LORD they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.
051- These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.
19 06 Joshua 021 Eleazar
001- Then came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel;
002- And they spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle.
003- And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the LORD, these cities and their suburbs.
004- And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, which were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.
005- And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.
006- And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.
007- The children of Merari by their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
008- And the children of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.
009- And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name.
010- Which the children of Aaron, being of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi, had: for theirs was the first lot.
011- And they gave them the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, with the suburbs thereof round about it.
012- But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.
013- Thus they gave to the children of Aaron the priest Hebron with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Libnah with her suburbs,
014- And Jattir with her suburbs, and Eshtemoa with her suburbs,
015- And Holon with her suburbs, and Debir with her suburbs,
016- And Ain with her suburbs, and Juttah with her suburbs, and Bethshemesh with her suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes.
017- And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs,
018- Anathoth with her suburbs, and Almon with her suburbs; four cities.
019- All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their suburbs.
020- And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites which remained of the children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.
021- For they gave them Shechem with her suburbs in mount Ephraim, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Gezer with her suburbs,
022- And Kibzaim with her suburbs, and Bethhoron with her suburbs; four cities.
023- And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh with her suburbs, Gibbethon with her suburbs,
024- Aijalon with her suburbs, Gathrimmon with her suburbs; four cities.
025- And out of the half tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with her suburbs, and Gathrimmon with her suburbs; two cities.
026- All the cities were ten with their suburbs for the families of the children of Kohath that remained.
027- And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the other half tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Beeshterah with her suburbs; two cities.
028- And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with her suburbs, Dabareh with her suburbs,
029- Jarmuth with her suburbs, Engannim with her suburbs; four cities.
030- And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbs, Abdon with her suburbs,
031- Helkath with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs; four cities.
032- And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Hammothdor with her suburbs, and Kartan with her suburbs; three cities.
033- All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs.
034- And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbs,
035- Dimnah with her suburbs, Nahalal with her suburbs; four cities.
036- And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with her suburbs, and Jahazah with her suburbs,
037- Kedemoth with her suburbs, and Mephaath with her suburbs; four cities.
038- And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs,
039- Heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all.
040- So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities.
041- All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs.
042- These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus were all these cities.
043- And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.
044- And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.
045- There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.
20 06 Joshua 022 Eleazar
001- Then Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh,
002- And said unto them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you:
003- Ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the LORD your God.
004- And now the LORD your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side Jordan.
005- But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
006- So Joshua blessed them, and sent them away: and they went unto their tents.
007- Now to the one half of the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given possession in Bashan: but unto the other half thereof gave Joshua among their brethren on this side Jordan westward. And when Joshua sent them away also unto their tents, then he blessed them,
008- And he spake unto them, saying, Return with much riches unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with brass, and with iron, and with very much raiment: divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.
009- And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go unto the country of Gilead, to the land of their possession, whereof they were possessed, according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
010- And when they came unto the borders of Jordan, that are in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by Jordan, a great altar to see to.
011- And the children of Israel heard say, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh have built an altar over against the land of Canaan, in the borders of Jordan, at the passage of the children of Israel.
012- And when the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up to war against them.
013- And the children of Israel sent unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest,
014- And with him ten princes, of each chief house a prince throughout all the tribes of Israel; and each one was an head of the house of their fathers among the thousands of Israel.
015- And they came unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, unto the land of Gilead, and they spake with them, saying,
016- Thus saith the whole congregation of the LORD, What trespass is this that ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the LORD, in that ye have builded you an altar, that ye might rebel this day against the LORD?
017- Is the iniquity of Peor too little for us, from which we are not cleansed until this day, although there was a plague in the congregation of the LORD,
018- But that ye must turn away this day from following the LORD? and it will be, seeing ye rebel to day against the LORD, that to morrow he will be wroth with the whole congregation of Israel.
019- Notwithstanding, if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass ye over unto the land of the possession of the LORD, wherein the LORD's tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession among us: but rebel not against the LORD, nor rebel against us, in building you an altar beside the altar of the LORD our God.
020- Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? and that man perished not alone in his iniquity.
021- Then the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh answered, and said unto the heads of the thousands of Israel,
022- The LORD God of gods, the LORD God of gods, he knoweth, and Israel he shall know; if it be in rebellion, or if in transgression against the LORD, (save us not this day,)
023- That we have built us an altar to turn from following the LORD, or if to offer thereon burnt offering or meat offering, or if to offer peace offerings thereon, let the LORD himself require it;
024- And if we have not rather done it for fear of this thing, saying, In time to come your children might speak unto our children, saying, What have ye to do with the LORD God of Israel?
025- For the LORD hath made Jordan a border between us and you, ye children of Reuben and children of Gad; ye have no part in the LORD: so shall your children make our children cease from fearing the LORD.
026- Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice:
027- But that it may be a witness between us, and you, and our generations after us, that we might do the service of the LORD before him with our burnt offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no part in the LORD.
028- Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say again, Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between us and you.
029- God forbid that we should rebel against the LORD, and turn this day from following the LORD, to build an altar for burnt offerings, for meat offerings, or for sacrifices, beside the altar of the LORD our God that is before his tabernacle.
030- And when Phinehas the priest, and the princes of the congregation and heads of the thousands of Israel which were with him, heard the words that the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the children of Manasseh spake, it pleased them.
031- And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, This day we perceive that the LORD is among us, because ye have not committed this trespass against the LORD: now ye have delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of the LORD.
032- And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the princes, returned from the children of Reuben, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, unto the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them word again.
033- And the thing pleased the children of Israel; and the children of Israel blessed God, and did not intend to go up against them in battle, to destroy the land wherein the children of Reuben and Gad dwelt.
034- And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad called the altar Ed: for it shall be a witness between us that the LORD is God.
21 06 Joshua 024 Eleazar
001- And Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called for the elders of Israel, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God.
002- And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods.
003- And I took your father Abraham from the other side of the flood, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac.
004- And I gave unto Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave unto Esau mount Seir, to possess it; but Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.
005- I sent Moses also and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt, according to that which I did among them: and afterward I brought you out.
006- And I brought your fathers out of Egypt: and ye came unto the sea; and the Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and horsemen unto the Red sea.
007- And when they cried unto the LORD, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes have seen what I have done in Egypt: and ye dwelt in the wilderness a long season.
008- And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side Jordan; and they fought with you: and I gave them into your hand, that ye might possess their land; and I destroyed them from before you.
009- Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and warred against Israel, and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you:
010- But I would not hearken unto Balaam; therefore he blessed you still: so I delivered you out of his hand.
011- And you went over Jordan, and came unto Jericho: and the men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I delivered them into your hand.
012- And I sent the hornet before you, which drave them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; but not with thy sword, nor with thy bow.
013- And I have given you a land for which ye did not labor, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat.
014- Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.
015- And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
016- And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;
017- For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:
018- And the LORD drave out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve the LORD; for he is our God.
019- And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.
020- If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.
021- And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD.
022- And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.
023- Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel.
024- And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.
025- So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.
026- And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the LORD.
027- And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.
028- So Joshua let the people depart, every man unto his inheritance.
029- And it came to pass after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old.
030- And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathserah, which is in mount Ephraim, on the north side of the hill of Gaash.
031- And Israel served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that overlived Joshua, and which had known all the works of the LORD, that he had done for Israel.
032- And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in a parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an hundred pieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.
033- And Eleazar the son of Aaron died; and they buried him in a hill that pertained to Phinehas his son, which was given him in mount Ephraim.
22 07 Judges 020 Eleazar
001- Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was gathered together as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, unto the LORD in Mizpeh.
002- And the chief of all the people, even of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen that drew sword.
003- (Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpeh.) Then said the children of Israel, Tell us, how was this wickedness?
004- And the Levite, the husband of the woman that was slain, answered and said, I came into Gibeah that belongeth to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge.
005- And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and beset the house round about upon me by night, and thought to have slain me: and my concubine have they forced, that she is dead.
006- And I took my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the country of the inheritance of Israel: for they have committed lewdness and folly in Israel.
007- Behold, ye are all children of Israel; give here your advice and counsel.
008- And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us go to his tent, neither will we any of us turn into his house.
009- But now this shall be the thing which we will do to Gibeah; we will go up by lot against it;
010- And we will take ten men of an hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and an hundred of a thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand, to fetch victual for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the folly that they have wrought in Israel.
011- So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.
012- And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, What wickedness is this that is done among you?
013- Now therefore deliver us the men, the children of Belial, which are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel.
014- But the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities unto Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.
015- And the children of Benjamin were numbered at that time out of the cities twenty and six thousand men that drew sword, beside the inhabitants of Gibeah, which were numbered seven hundred chosen men.
016- Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded; every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss.
017- And the men of Israel, beside Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men that drew sword: all these were men of war.
018- And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall go up first.
019- And the children of Israel rose up in the morning, and encamped against Gibeah.
020- And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel put themselves in array to fight against them at Gibeah.
021- And the children of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites that day twenty and two thousand men.
022- And the people the men of Israel encouraged themselves, and set their battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first day.
023- (And the children of Israel went up and wept before the LORD until even, and asked counsel of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up again to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother? And the LORD said, Go up against him.)
024- And the children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.
025- And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.
026- Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came unto the house of God, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that day until even, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
027- And the children of Israel inquired of the LORD, (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,
028- And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days,) saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And the LORD said, Go up; for to morrow I will deliver them into thine hand.
029- And Israel set liers in wait round about Gibeah.
030- And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and put themselves in array against Gibeah, as at other times.
031- And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite of the people, and kill, as at other times, in the highways, of which one goeth up to the house of God, and the other to Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
032- And the children of Benjamin said, They are smitten down before us, as at the first. But the children of Israel said, Let us flee, and draw them from the city unto the highways.
033- And all the men of Israel rose up out of their place, and put themselves in array at Baaltamar: and the liers in wait of Israel came forth out of their places, even out of the meadows of Gibeah.
034- And there came against Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and the battle was sore: but they knew not that evil was near them.
035- And the LORD smote Benjamin before Israel: and the children of Israel destroyed of the Benjamites that day twenty and five thousand and an hundred men: all these drew the sword.
036- So the children of Benjamin saw that they were smitten: for the men of Israel gave place to the Benjamites, because they trusted unto the liers in wait which they had set beside Gibeah.
037- And the liers in wait hasted, and rushed upon Gibeah; and the liers in wait drew themselves along, and smote all the city with the edge of the sword.
038- Now there was an appointed sign between the men of Israel and the liers in wait, that they should make a great flame with smoke rise up out of the city.
039- And when the men of Israel retired in the battle, Benjamin began to smite and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons: for they said, Surely they are smitten down before us, as in the first battle.
040- But when the flame began to arise up out of the city with a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them, and, behold, the flame of the city ascended up to heaven.
041- And when the men of Israel turned again, the men of Benjamin were amazed: for they saw that evil was come upon them.
042- Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel unto the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and them which came out of the cities they destroyed in the midst of them.
043- Thus they inclosed the Benjamites round about, and chased them, and trode them down with ease over against Gibeah toward the sunrising.
044- And there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these were men of valor.
045- And they turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and pursued hard after them unto Gidom, and slew two thousand men of them.
046- So that all which fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men that drew the sword; all these were men of valor.
047- But six hundred men turned and fled to the wilderness unto the rock Rimmon, and abode in the rock Rimmon four months.
048- And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the beast, and all that came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that they came to.
23 09 1 Samuel 007 Eleazar
001- And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.
002- And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjathjearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.
003- And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
004- Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.
005- And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the LORD.
006- And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.
007- And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
008- And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.
009- And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him.
010- And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.
011- And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under Bethcar.
012- Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.
013- So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
014- And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.

001- Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
002- The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
003- The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
004- And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
005- Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.
006- But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:
007- But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.

017- And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.
018- And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.

022- These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.

020- Of the sons of Uzziel; Micah the first and Jesiah the second.
021- The sons of Merari; Mahli, and Mushi. The sons of Mahli; Eleazar, and Kish.
022- And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters: and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.
023- The sons of Mushi; Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
024- These were the sons of Levi after the house of their fathers; even the chief of the fathers, as they were counted by number of names by their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from the age of twenty years and upward.
025- For David said, The LORD God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever:
026- And also unto the Levites; they shall no more carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for the service thereof.
027- For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above:
028- Because their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;
029- Both for the shewbread, and for the fine flour for meat offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for that which is baked in the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all manner of measure and size;
030- And to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at even:
031- And to offer all burnt sacrifices unto the LORD in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded unto them, continually before the LORD:
032- And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the LORD.
29 13 1 Chronicles 024 Eleazar
001- Now these are the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
002- But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest's office.
003- And David distributed them, both Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their offices in their service.
004- And there were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar, and thus were they divided. Among the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen chief men of the house of their fathers, and eight among the sons of Ithamar according to the house of their fathers.
005- Thus were they divided by lot, one sort with another; for the governors of the sanctuary, and governors of the house of God, were of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.
006- And Shemaiah the son of Nethaneel the scribe, one of the Levites, wrote them before the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and before the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites: one principal household being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar.
007- Now the first lot came forth to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,
008- The third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
009- The fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,
010- The seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,
011- The ninth to Jeshuah, the tenth to Shecaniah,
012- The eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,
013- The thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,
014- The fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,
015- The seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Aphses,
016- The nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezekel,
017- The one and twentieth to Jachin, the two and twentieth to Gamul,
018- The three and twentieth to Delaiah, the four and twentieth to Maaziah.
019- These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.
020- And the rest of the sons of Levi were these: Of the sons of Amram; Shubael: of the sons of Shubael; Jehdeiah.
021- Concerning Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, the first was Isshiah.
022- Of the Izharites; Shelomoth: of the sons of Shelomoth; Jahath.
023- And the sons of Hebron; Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth.
024- Of the sons of Uzziel; Michah: of the sons of Michah; Shamir.
025- The brother of Michah was Isshiah: of the sons of Isshiah; Zechariah.
026- The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi: the sons of Jaaziah; Beno.
027- The sons of Merari by Jaaziah; Beno, and Shoham, and Zaccur, and Ibri.
028- Of Mahli came Eleazar, who had no sons.
029- Concerning Kish: the son of Kish was Jerahmeel.
030- The sons also of Mushi; Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites after the house of their fathers.
031- These likewise cast lots over against their brethren the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites, even the principal fathers over against their younger brethren.
30 15 Ezra 007 Eleazar
001- Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah,
002- The son of Shallum, the son of Zadok, the son of Ahitub,
003- The son of Amariah, the son of Azariah, the son of Meraioth,
004- The son of Zerahiah, the son of Uzzi, the son of Bukki,
005- The son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the chief priest:
006- This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.
007- And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, unto Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
008- And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.
009- For upon the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.
010- For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.
011- Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave unto Ezra the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel.
012- Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time.
013- I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with thee.
014- Forasmuch as thou art sent of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to enquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of thy God which is in thine hand;
015- And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem,
016- And all the silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem:
017- That thou mayest buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.
018- And whatsoever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren, to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do after the will of your God.
019- The vessels also that are given thee for the service of the house of thy God, those deliver thou before the God of Jerusalem.
020- And whatsoever more shall be needful for the house of thy God, which thou shalt have occasion to bestow, bestow it out of the king's treasure house.
021- And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers which are beyond the river, that whatsoever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done speedily,
022- Unto an hundred talents of silver, and to an hundred measures of wheat, and to an hundred baths of wine, and to an hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much.
023- Whatsoever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?
024- Also we certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom, upon them.
025- And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that is in thine hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that are beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know them not.
026- And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.
027- Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, which hath put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem:
028- And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the king's mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.
31 15 Ezra 008 Eleazar
001- These are now the chief of their fathers, and this is the genealogy of them that went up with me from Babylon, in the reign of Artaxerxes the king.
002- Of the sons of Phinehas; Gershom: of the sons of Ithamar; Daniel: of the sons of David; Hattush.
003- Of the sons of Shechaniah, of the sons of Pharosh; Zechariah: and with him were reckoned by genealogy of the males an hundred and fifty.
004- Of the sons of Pahathmoab; Elihoenai the son of Zerahiah, and with him two hundred males.
005- Of the sons of Shechaniah; the son of Jahaziel, and with him three hundred males.
006- Of the sons also of Adin; Ebed the son of Jonathan, and with him fifty males.
007- And of the sons of Elam; Jeshaiah the son of Athaliah, and with him seventy males.
008- And of the sons of Shephatiah; Zebadiah the son of Michael, and with him fourscore males.
009- Of the sons of Joab; Obadiah the son of Jehiel, and with him two hundred and eighteen males.
010- And of the sons of Shelomith; the son of Josiphiah, and with him an hundred and threescore males.
011- And of the sons of Bebai; Zechariah the son of Bebai, and with him twenty and eight males.
012- And of the sons of Azgad; Johanan the son of Hakkatan, and with him an hundred and ten males.
013- And of the last sons of Adonikam, whose names are these, Eliphelet, Jeiel, and Shemaiah, and with them threescore males.
014- Of the sons also of Bigvai; Uthai, and Zabbud, and with them seventy males.
015- And I gathered them together to the river that runneth to Ahava; and there abode we in tents three days: and I viewed the people, and the priests, and found there none of the sons of Levi.
016- Then sent I for Eliezer, for Ariel, for Shemaiah, and for Elnathan, and for Jarib, and for Elnathan, and for Nathan, and for Zechariah, and for Meshullam, chief men; also for Joiarib, and for Elnathan, men of understanding.
017- And I sent them with commandment unto Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia, and I told them what they should say unto Iddo, and to his brethren the Nethinims, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring unto us ministers for the house of our God.
018- And by the good hand of our God upon us they brought us a man of understanding, of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel; and Sherebiah, with his sons and his brethren, eighteen;
019- And Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, his brethren and their sons, twenty;
020- Also of the Nethinims, whom David and the princes had appointed for the service of the Levites, two hundred and twenty Nethinims: all of them were expressed by name.
021- Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
022- For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.
023- So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.
024- Then I separated twelve of the chief of the priests, Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brethren with them,
025- And weighed unto them the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, even the offering of the house of our God, which the king, and his counsellors, and his lords, and all Israel there present, had offered:
026- I even weighed unto their hand six hundred and fifty talents of silver, and silver vessels an hundred talents, and of gold an hundred talents;
027- Also twenty basons of gold, of a thousand drams; and two vessels of fine copper, precious as gold.
028- And I said unto them, Ye are holy unto the LORD; the vessels are holy also; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering unto the LORD God of your fathers.
029- Watch ye, and keep them, until ye weigh them before the chief of the priests and the Levites, and chief of the fathers of Israel, at Jerusalem, in the chambers of the house of the LORD.
030- So took the priests and the Levites the weight of the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, to bring them to Jerusalem unto the house of our God.
031- Then we departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go unto Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way.
032- And we came to Jerusalem, and abode there three days.
033- Now on the fourth day was the silver and the gold and the vessels weighed in the house of our God by the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest; and with him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas; and with them was Jozabad the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, Levites;
034- By number and by weight of every one: and all the weight was written at that time.
035- Also the children of those that had been carried away, which were come out of the captivity, offered burnt offerings unto the God of Israel, twelve bullocks for all Israel, ninety and six rams, seventy and seven lambs, twelve he goats for a sin offering: all this was a burnt offering unto the LORD.
036- And they delivered the king's commissions unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors on this side the river: and they furthered the people, and the house of God.
32 15 Ezra 010 Eleazar
001- Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.
002- And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.
003- Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.
004- Arise; for this matter belongeth unto thee: we also will be with thee: be of good courage, and do it.
005- Then arose Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they sware.
006- Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away.
007- And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem;
008- And that whosoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the congregation of those that had been carried away.
009- Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.
010- And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel.
011- Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.
012- Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do.
013- But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing.
014- Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us.
015- Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahaziah the son of Tikvah were employed about this matter: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them.
016- And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain chief of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them by their names, were separated, and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
017- And they made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month.
018- And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.
019- And they gave their hands that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their trespass.
020- And of the sons of Immer; Hanani, and Zebadiah.
021- And of the sons of Harim; Maaseiah, and Elijah, and Shemaiah, and Jehiel, and Uzziah.
022- And of the sons of Pashur; Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethaneel, Jozabad, and Elasah.
023- Also of the Levites; Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah, (the same is Kelita,) Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer.
024- Of the singers also; Eliashib: and of the porters; Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.
025- Moreover of Israel: of the sons of Parosh; Ramiah, and Jeziah, and Malchiah, and Miamin, and Eleazar, and Malchijah, and Benaiah.
026- And of the sons of Elam; Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, and Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Eliah.
027- And of the sons of Zattu; Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.
028- Of the sons also of Bebai; Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, and Athlai.
029- And of the sons of Bani; Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Jashub, and Sheal, and Ramoth.
030- And of the sons of Pahathmoab; Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezaleel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.
031- And of the sons of Harim; Eliezer, Ishijah, Malchiah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,
032- Benjamin, Malluch, and Shemariah.
033- Of the sons of Hashum; Mattenai, Mattathah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasseh, and Shimei.

035- Benaiah, Bedeiah, Chelluh,
036- Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,
037- Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Jaasau,
038- And Bani, and Binnui, Shimei,

042- Shallum, Amariah, and Joseph.
043- Of the sons of Nebo; Jeiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Jadau, and Joel, Benaiah.
044- All these had taken strange wives: and some of them had wives by whom they had children.
33 16 Nehemiah 012 Eleazar
001- Now these are the priests and the Levites that went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,
002- Amariah, Malluch, Hattush,
003- Shechaniah, Rehum, Meremoth,
004- Iddo, Ginnetho, Abijah,
005- Miamin, Maadiah, Bilgah,
006- Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah,
007- Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chief of the priests and of their brethren in the days of Jeshua.
008- Moreover the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, which was over the thanksgiving, he and his brethren.
009- Also Bakbukiah and Unni, their brethren, were over against them in the watches.
010- And Jeshua begat Joiakim, Joiakim also begat Eliashib, and Eliashib begat Joiada,
011- And Joiada begat Jonathan, and Jonathan begat Jaddua.
012- And in the days of Joiakim were priests, the chief of the fathers: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;
013- Of Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan;
014- Of Melicu, Jonathan; of Shebaniah, Joseph;
015- Of Harim, Adna; of Meraioth, Helkai;
016- Of Iddo, Zechariah; of Ginnethon, Meshullam;
017- Of Abijah, Zichri; of Miniamin, of Moadiah, Piltai:
018- Of Bilgah, Shammua; of Shemaiah, Jehonathan;
019- And of Joiarib, Mattenai; of Jedaiah, Uzzi;
020- Of Sallai, Kallai; of Amok, Eber;
021- Of Hilkiah, Hashabiah; of Jedaiah, Nethaneel.
022- The Levites in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, were recorded chief of the fathers: also the priests, to the reign of Darius the Persian.
023- The sons of Levi, the chief of the fathers, were written in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib.
024- And the chief of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, ward over against ward.
025- Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates.
026- These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest, the scribe.
027- And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.
028- And the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain country round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophathi;
029- Also from the house of Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singers had builded them villages round about Jerusalem.
030- And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, and purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.
031- Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies of them that gave thanks, whereof one went on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate:
032- And after them went Hoshaiah, and half of the princes of Judah,
033- And Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam,
034- Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah,
035- And certain of the priests' sons with trumpets; namely, Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Michaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph:
036- And his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azarael, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God, and Ezra the scribe before them.
037- And at the fountain gate, which was over against them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the going up of the wall, above the house of David, even unto the water gate eastward.
038- And the other company of them that gave thanks went over against them, and I after them, and the half of the people upon the wall, from beyond the tower of the furnaces even unto the broad wall;
039- And from above the gate of Ephraim, and above the old gate, and above the fish gate, and the tower of Hananeel, and the tower of Meah, even unto the sheep gate: and they stood still in the prison gate.
040- So stood the two companies of them that gave thanks in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me:
041- And the priests; Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Michaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;
042- And Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malchijah, and Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang loud, with Jezrahiah their overseer.
043- Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy: the wives also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.
044- And at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited.
045- And both the singers and the porters kept the ward of their God, and the ward of the purification, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.
046- For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God.
047- And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, every day his portion: and they sanctified holy things unto the Levites; and the Levites sanctified them unto the children of Aaron.
34 40 Matthew 001 Eleazar

011- And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
012- And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
013- And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
014- And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
015- And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
016- And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
017- So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
018- Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
019- Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
020- But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
021- And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
022- Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
023- Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
024- Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
025- And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
